New Hampshire I hadn't been up to The Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire for a number of years. Decided to take a quick trip to the White Mountains during the 2021 autumn season. The fall foliage definitely did not disappoint with all the beautiful, autumn colors! A relaxing and beautiful respite from the droning of everyday life. Vermont Vermont is another hidden gem in New England. So many rustic and beautiful landscapes... from barns, to tractors, to rolling hills and fields. I have always wanted to visit the Old Guildhall Grist Mill in Guildhall, VT. Finally had a chance to see this little slice of history in person. Typical Vermont and typical New England with its quaint charm and off the beaten path surroundings. The timing was right and the autumn foliage was still vivid and magnificent.

As with anything else, there are always 2 sides to every story. I know folks don't agree on what should happen regarding Cannabis legalization or even medical use. Agree to disagree is the only way to approach things sometime.
Over the last 10 years or so, there has been a big push to legalize Cannabis in the United States at the state and federal level. I do think the plant has medical benefits that we do not fully understand yet. Along with that comes the next logical step of legalizing "adult-use" in a state by state progression... which I don't have any qualms about. Regardless of where folks stand on these topics, one thing I've come to appreciate are the pure aesthetics of the Cannabis plant. Some of the leaves their shapes are so intriguing to me. If you have not looked at a leaf up-close... it is quite fascinating. Where am I going with this? Well, I hope to continue to photograph Cannabis plants and create artwork and fine photography based upon those plants. Such an interesting time in history now; I feel great to be a small part of the overall process. Please check out my latest Cannabis artwork below. #cannabis #cannabisculture #cannabiscommunity As if everyone couldn't tell already... I've long been a fan of Jeeps in general. I love all of them... well most of them. Some of my favorites are definitely the CJ-2A, CJ-3A, and CJ-3B. Willys-Overland branded its mark in history with the military Willys MB and the civilian Jeep CJ-2A. The essence of a utilitarian off-road vehicle. The phrase "bare bones" always comes to mind. However, these Jeeps always get the job done! These first flat-fender Jeeps still get the job done, even after 70+ years being on the planet.
There is something so simple yet very special about Rockport Harbor in Rockport, MA USA. One of those places that captures the essence of New England, Massachusetts, and of the East Coast of the US. I hadn't been to Rockport for many, many years and decided to take a quick day trip a few months ago.
The sky was mostly cloudy but had some decent cloud depth to it. With photography sometimes you have to use what is there to create the moment, other times you are blessed with the moment already partially created. The popular fishing shack, Motif No. 1, still adorned its Christmas wreath during the last week in December. This spot definitely doesn't disappoint... if you ever have a chance to check it out, please do. #Rockport #Newengland #Massachusetts #maritime #Rockportharbor #scenic *5/26/2020- Mask lead time and production time from Fine Art America / Pixels is currently 3 to 7 weeks. They are continually working to reduce this time. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended the use of cloth face masks to supplement the practice of social distancing in order to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

These two photographs were taken at a farm right here in Central Massachusetts. New England is no stranger to farming and farms. I couldn't get over how colorful these green peppers and the orange baskets were. The peppers looked so good I could eat them like an apple. Orchards and farms are always so welcoming and beautiful. Peaceful once you get out beyond the crowds and into the orchard trees or the rows of crops. Sometimes all we need is a little time to wander in our own minds or sit and watch the beautiful surroundings while recharging.
If you have never been to the Wayside Inn Old Grist Mill in Sudbury, Massachusetts... you really need to check it out. It's one of those historical New England landmarks that looks so awesome during any season. Winter and autumn are my favorite times to visit though. The Grist Mill Pond up above the Grist Mill is also very picturesque. Snap some photos, bring a picnic, read a book... whatever you like to do you can do it there and it is peaceful. The Wayside Inn property of course has a lot of history attached to it. The Wayside Inn is the oldest operating American inn, since 1716 to be exact.
I don't really gravitate towards any particular tractor brand... I just like them all. If I had to pick a few that I like the most... well maybe Farmall, John Deere, Oliver, and Ford, just to name a few. Tractors are great because they tend to be very photogenic. They have so many parts to them which can become almost like abstract photographs when you get closer in proximity to a tractor. Pair them with a barn or farmland and all the sudden you have a rustic landscape that is beautiful and/or tells a story. #tractors #countrylife #farmart #barns #farmhouse Farmall Thought I would try something a bit different and combine an American Flag photo with my Farmall tractor photograph. Allis-Chalmers John Deere Ford Tractor
Something so innately cool about a myriad of bolts, hoses, pieces, and bunch of metal. Especially putting all those things together and getting it to leave the ground and fly.
I haven't been to many airshows. However, during the fall I was able to attend The Collins Foundation airshow held at the Worcester Regional Airport (ORH) in Worcester, Massachusetts. They had some really neat World War II planes on display with all the unique artwork and decorations that make these planes so special. One of my favorites was the North America B-25 Mitchell airplane. The propellers looked so intense and industrial. I was able to see this plane take off which was even better. Above are two versions of a photograph that I really enjoyed creating. I can only imagine the hell that soldiers (and planes) went through. That is quite a sacrifice... and for that I say Thank You. Thanks for reading and taking a look! |
