I work full time in addition to taking photos and selling prints, so time is very valuable. I might not have as much photo activity going on in the next few weeks, but I will try to check in here and there... and of course the holidays are arriving shortly in the near future.
Been busy lately with getting the house ready for winter. Thinking of all the projects that I should have done over the summer but will now have to wait until next spring/summer.... haha oh well. Autumn is my favorite season... but I always know winter is coming. Attempting to get the house and the yard buttoned up during the next few weeks.

Our two guinea pigs ... Max (black/white) and Jax (gray/white). A few of the most memorable iPhone photos I have captured. We have had them for almost a year now. They are such interesting and curious creatures. They never let a "treat" opportunity pass them by haha. They were living together for the first 8 months and then it became pretty apparent that Jax was really bullying Max. So now they live in a divided cage, each guinea pig with their own spacious "resort" to live in. They really do love their fleece pads... warm, cozy, and comfortable.
All I can say... is that guinea pig life is pretty sweet. Glad to have them as part of the household. #cavy #guineapig Looking for the perfect Christmas gift? #holidaycards #greetingcards #photoprints #homedecor #gifts #xmas This Yankee Foliage website is a very helpful fall foliage site for the New England area in the United States. The site has recommended routes and trips as well as foliage maps and foliage updates. Lots of beautiful autumn photos as well. http://www.yankeefoliage.com/ #autumn #fall #newengland #falltime #seasons
The smell of autumn... all the different colored trees... the perfect temperatures in the New England area... the pumpkins and gourds... apple picking, apple orchards, apple crisp, applesauce... Halloween... the changing of the seasons.... the vivid vistas and landscapes with country like colors and rustic feel... really way too many things to list here. Living in central Massachusetts gives me an opportunity to have access to some great New England heritage and many scenic locations. There is such a distinct change between the seasons as well. New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, the Berkshires, and New York are all beautiful areas. I have not photographed much in Maine and Rhode Island, but would love to visit those states a little more at some point. Below are just a few of my best selling fall prints... these seem to epitomize my love for the fall season and being in Massachusetts and New England. The 36 inch wrapped canvas glossy prints seem to be the most popular configuration for this collection of autumn decor. Please keep in mind that my fine art prints are made from full size full resolution image files and are professionally printed by Fine Art America's print facility. Smaller files are used for display on the internet. Old Stone Church and Wachusett Reservoir in West Boylston, Massachusetts, MA Route 112 in Western Massachusetts / Colrain, Massachusetts, MA Prindle Pond in Charlton, Massachusetts, MA A few of my photographs from my recent NH trip that I have had a chance to finish and upload to Fine Art America. I went on October 9th and 10th to try and catch some of the peak foliage in the White Mountain area. If you have not visited... you should put this on your list to do at some point. The afternoon light and the view from the Bath Covered Bridge in Bath, New Hampshire were just exquisite. Even though the foliage is not really that spectacular in this image... the lighting is really what drew me to this scenic panorama. Moments like these are rare in life and I always cherish them as much as possible. I managed to capture some images I was pleased with after many repetitious maneuvers haha. Thorough a combination of stopping at stoplights more than several times for the correct timing, parking in a parking lot and getting out and walking around... I finally was satisfied with a few of my sign photographs. A while back I came across the website: http://www.kirkbridebuildings.com/ . A really cool history of the architecture associated with these institutions. Some nice photographs on Kirkbride site as well.
I have had the good fortune of visiting a few of these places and they always leave me wanting to know more and visit other historic mental hospitals and insane asylums. There were also many interesting TB hospitals as well. Abandoned buildings and houses are one of my favorite things to photograph. Usually so much decay and abandonment. The air is always so heavy with emotion too. So many moods and so many lost memories. #abandoned #mentalhospital #insaneasylum Had a lot going on the last few months so I haven't gotten on any kind of regular blog schedule going... it's something that I really need to do soon though. Hoping to check in a little more often to blog. Still figuring out how to blog, haha.
The Autumn season is now upon us. I'm planning to do a day trip in the near future up to the White Mountain / Kancamagus Highway area of New Hampshire. I was fortunate enough to be able to go last year and capture a few interesting landscapes with the foliage popping on the trees. If you are looking for some unique autumn decor... I do have several foliage images available as prints. These images are from New England, specifically states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. #foliage #newengland #autumn #autumnlandscapes #newhampshire #kancamagus It's been snowing pretty good here today. Had the day off from work because of the snow, so just trying to get caught up on a few things. Hoping to get out with the camera for a bit and capture some snowy photos. Even something as simple as a set of footprints can spark an interest in my mind. Sometimes it's the littlest things that capture our attention... Things we don't notice or see all the time. Things we walk by thousands of times in our lifetime.
Snow blower belt broke today during the first part of snow removal... I should have just gone and taken photos instead of trying to shovel the driveway by hand I have come to the conclusion over the last few years ... that I absolutely love to use prime lenses. Mostly for the high quality of the images they produce and the low light capabilities. They make it so easy to adjust and play around with the depth of field... what is in focus and what is out of focus. Also these lenses do make you constantly think about your composition. I don't even like to touch the one zoom lens I own. The Nikon 35mm 1.8 G lens stays on my camera 80-90% of the time lately.
